Cosmos seeds garden project

Workshop_59/Cosmos seeds garden project _2014/19

led by Michele Guido

March 14-15, 2019

Thursday 14, 3 – 5 pm
Friday 15, 10 am – 5 pm

As a preliminary study of an open air project for the exhibition Resistenza / Resilienza, group show curated by Gaia Bindi and Piero Gilardi, which will open at the PAV on 20 June, Michele Guido starts the preparation of a garden for the reproduction of seeds from rare and ancient plant species.
These varieties, which come from the Banca dei Semi del Salento, will be sown in peat pots, placed in a suitable space and followed in the stages of germination and growth to be planted in the milder season.
In a collective dimension, Michele Guido builds the space of the garden starting from the vegetal void present in the natural elements, well defined but missing in small portions of their surface.
The form subtracted from the plant (from insects or other fortuitous agents) will be traced inside the park to make it a garden, a space of fertile soil, whose flowerbeds will contain seeds with high reproductive potentiality.
Only with good weather, the relationship between sky and earth, in the expectation that links macro and microcosm, the garden-vegetable will see its physiognomy realized.

The workshop is held in collaboration with CTC Project, a group of students and teachers of the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin.

The workshop has free access
